Paint Shop Preparation
The intention from the outset was to have the finished car with the full race livery of the 1977 competition car.
In order to prepare the bodywork for this the car was returned to the paintshop to be flattened and polished.
Professional Detail
Before applying the decals it was decided to have the car professionally detailed at Deep-Shine Detailers in Lincoln.
This involved a full clay-bar decontamination of the paint surface and a multi-stage machine polish to remove any paint imperfections and swirls marks.
Paint Protection Film
XPEL self healing paint protection film was applied to the most vulnerable surfaces of the car in order to protect from stone chips and road rash.
The front lower nose section, the lower sills and the area around the rear wheel arches were protected along with the glass of the front lights.
